The Proposed Development is located north of Mokopane within the Limpopo Province. The extent of the project is located within the Waterberg District Municipality (WDM) and the Mogalekwena Local Municipality (MLM).

The N11-13X Mokopane Ring Road is a 21.219 km greenfield project proposing a Class 1A Primary Freeway in a rural area, featuring a four-lane undivided carriageway with 2.5 m shoulders and a 2 m paved median. The development includes the construction and extension of road structures, such as bridges and major culverts, as well as the establishment and expansion of borrow pits. While an Environmental Authorisation (EA) for the road was obtained in 2009 and remains valid, a new EA is required for infilling activities related to sensitive areas and watercourses associated with new bridges and culverts. Key works involve extending one existing culvert, constructing twelve new major culverts, building two new bridges (including one over the Rooisloot River), developing a new 31.7 ha borrow pit, and extending an existing 2.23 ha borrow pit.
